SCORE Chapter 184 has over 30 counselors bringing centuries of practical business experience to helping our clients. Brief business bios of the counselors in the Upper Valley are presented below.

30-year career with an international industrial parts distributor. Retired as Vice President of Corporate Services with an emphasis in Real Estate, Property and Casualty Insurance, and Employee Benefits. Small business experience includes two-years as the owner of a bed and breakfast inn in Vermont.


Manager, World Bank, Washington, DC. Thirty years in international development work. Twelve years prior experience as a journalist.


Tuck MBA. 31 years in Upper Valley community banking. Commercial lender and later Chairman, President and CEO.


Started with IBM in data processing, then went to Honeywell and then Litton Computer Systems. Organized a group to buy the Litton Division and since then have been a principal in a number of small firms - I/O Devices, Greenwich Investment Co., Direct Media New England, K-ROSS, a building materials supplier in Lebanon, NH which I sold to Barker Steel, remaining as President and then Consultant.


Thirty-five years experience with Price Waterhouse (Partner member of Policy Committee and other leadership positions.) More recently Chairman and CEO of Elmer Little & Sons (glove manufacturer and wholesaler); VP and Treasurer of Dartmouth College; and VP Development of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Counseling specialties: Accounting, Finance, General Management and Taxes.


1995 "Wall of Fame" Honoree, American Management Association. Investor, International General Manager, Engineer, (managed companies in Canada, Portugal, Mexico and partners in Switzerland, Germany, England). Policy maker and executive in billion dollar corporation, Sheller Globe Corp. (NYSE) Corporate Vice President, President General Products Group. President and CEO Kearney National, (NASDAQ) manufacturers of electrical equipment for power utilities. Vice President, Eastern Operations Gulf &Western, responsible for 17 companies in diversified manufacturing and distribution business. Vice President and General Manager ITT Transmission Division. Manager Engineering, North American Staff, ITT. Management Consultant Quality Control and Reliability. Engineer, General Electric Company. Education: Engineering education, University of New Hampshire; Special courses, Dartmouth College. Honors and Publications: The American Management Association’s Distinguished Service Award for “Extraordinary and Continued Service to the Ideas and Ideals of Professional Management” 1965. Contributed a significant chapter to the AMA book, The Manufacturing Manager and His Job, as well as a chapter on robotics in The Management Handbook.


Turner Construction Co., 42 yrs.: 1970, VP/Territory General Manager of Turner's PA office. 1975, Sr. VP and elected Director of the Company. 1985, assumed responsibilities of sales, marketing and planning for the Construction Co. 1987, took on HQ overview of Turner's far West & Southwest office. 1988, elected executive VP of Western Div. In addition to sales, marketing, and planning.


Over 25 years as a management consultant in the areas of strategic planning, market research, product analysis - for a wide range of clients.


CPA, MBA Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Senior financial positions in banking and higher education, with special emphasis in working with financially distressed organizations.


Six years at medical device manufacturer Boston Scientific Corporation, as VP, CIO, and Director of Telecommunications. Thirteen years in information systems management consulting with Arthur D. Little. VP of Metropolitan Life. Founder of DTSS Incorporated. Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Dartmouth College. PhD Brown University. AB Dartmouth College.


Commission Agent - Northwestern Mutual Life Ins. Co. (Use of life ins, in business and professional organizations.) 1964 - Founded Business Life Lines, Inc., (design, implementation and admin., exec. benefit plans.) 1974 - Franchisee ?NW Mutual Life (assist individuals develop own ins, business - recruiting, training, supervising, and financing.) Counseling specialties: Insurance, Executive Benefits, Recruiting and Training, Finance and Real Estate.


An attorney with 44 years experience, primarily in corporate and trust litigation. Has also counseled some small businesses and school districts.


Thirty-two years with ExxonMobil in marketing, administrative and general management positions, mainly overseas. Eight years consulting, largely with people starting up their own businesses.


Thirty-three years experience, including design engineer, securities research and general corporate management. Experience in mergers/acquisitions and financial structure of growing companies.


Owner and operator of service stations, convenience stores and rental and leasing fleet (Avis) for 25 years. Owner and rental management of properties in Hanover and Lebanon. Corporate pilot and instructor for local FBO.


Venture capitalist for over 20 years. Early-stage investor in several companies that became public or were acquired by larger companies. Founder and CFO of Dartware, LLC, a developer of network management software. CEO/COO of two small manufacturing turnarounds. Experience in strategic planning, marketing, and sales. Seven years experience as an engineer in defense-related companies.


Graduated from Dartmouth and the Tuck School with an MBA. Joined IBM as a sales representative. After 7 years left IBM to help expand the family furniture and carpet retail business. As President and CEO was responsible for marketing, advertising, finance, sales, and purchasing. Currently Chairman. Past President of a national carpet trade association, as well as head of my local Better Business Bureau and past chair of a local BBB educational foundation.


Fifteen years management experience in trust and investment service operations. Eighteen years in financial and information management technology management positions with The First Church of Christ, Scientist. Seven years in engineering, positions in chemical/petroleum plant operations.


Employed ten years as employee benefits coordinator in banking, as well as owner of small catering business. Coordinator of resources and volunteer services for school system for forty years. Board member of various non-profits.


Ran Richardson's Marine Publishing before attending Tuck. After Tuck was a management consultant with an emphasis on start-ups. Currently President of Dana Robes Wood Craftsmen. Experience in Start-Up Management, General Management, Marketing and Operations.


Vice President International Insurance with Citibank in NY. Principal at McKinsey & Co. Inc. - Mgt. Consultants (Chicago, IL, Melbourne, Aus., Washington, DC). Finance, mktg., sales, promo., adv., financial analysis, gen. cost accounting, budget and record keeping.


VP Finance and CFO, Consolidated Bathurst, Canada; Controller, Ingersol Rand, Canada; Civil Engineer, Stone and Webster; McGill University and Harvard MBA.
